Heroes and Patriots Day
For a number of years, the CMRC has sponsored a special day honoring our military personnel, normally on the Memorial Day weekend. This year, however, we have elected to honor one of our own Tennessee Veterans on the following very special day.
This year’s celebration, on Oct 20, 2018, recognized the 100th Anniversary of the presentation of the ‘Medal of Honor’ to our own TN veteran, – Sgt. Alvin York.
The day’s celebration took place in the crossroads in the Northeast Section of the Crossville Outlet Center with appropriate ceremonies. The event began at 11 AM (Central Time), with a significant attendance.
In addition to one of the largest ceremonies we have ever had,, this day also showcased a ‘Patriotic Art Contest’, for the school age children of Cumberland County, with different age and class categories which are color coded on each piece of art displayed throughout the Outlet Center. Our sincere “Thanks” to both the Cumberland County School System, the associated Art teachers within the school system, and to the hundreds of students who vigorously prepared their entries for this display. CMRC awarded trophies to the winners of each age category on that day. Our many thanks to all the stores, and especially to Outlet Center management for the tremendous support provided for this event.
